W elcome to New Life Outreach Ministries of Swansea, South Carolina! Bishop Cardell and Lady Carolyn Sutton pray that you are blessed and inspired as you browse our website. We would love for you to visit us. Our commitment is to see “men strengthened, women restored, and families made whole.” If you would like to learn more about New Life, don't hesitate to contact us.
Bishop Cardell Sutton founded New Life Ministries in 1989. The foundational scripture comes from II Corinthians 5:17—, Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. Bishop Sutton’s desire is to preach the Word of God instant in season and out of season; reprove, rebuke, and exhort with patience and instruction ( II Timothy 4:1-2). We pray that lives are changed for the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, and for the edifying of the body of Christ (Ephesians 4:12).
New Life Ministries began in an old seed store in Swansea, SC. Our first five members consisted of the first family —Cardell, Carolyn, Rhonda, Carla and Quincy. Approximately six months later, New Life received its’ sixth member and within one year the church had grown to ten members. In 1991, the church relocated to a larger building, an old shoe store in Swansea with 35 members. Three years later we purchased six acres of land on Hwy #3 and began construction on a new facility which opened in January of 1994. In 1998 we converted our sanctuary into a dining hall and began construction on our current facility.
WE believe that God is a Spirit, infinite, eternal, and unchanging in His being, wisdom, power, holiness, justice, goodness, and truth.
WE believe there is one God, the God of the Holy Bible, the only true and living God.
WE believe that the Bible is the unadulterated Word of God, unblemished, untainted, and authorized by God.
WE believe in the salvation of mankind, and that the only way he is saved, according to the Word of God, is by grace through faith alone. It is the gift of God (Ephesians 2:8).
WE believe in repentance, justification, sanctification, and the baptism of the Holy Ghost and fire (Romans 5:1; John 17:17, 19; Matthew 3:11).
WE believe in the gifts of the Spirit, and that these gifts are in operation in the militant church (I Corinthians 12:8-11).
WE believe in water baptism by immersion, and that baptism is a sign to the world that we have entered into a covenant relationship with Christ in His death, burial, and resurrection (Matthew 28:19).
WE believe in the ordination of Bishops, Elders, and Pastors.
WE believe in the ecclesiastical offices of the Apostles, Prophets, Evangelists, and Teachers for the perfection of the ministry and the edification of the body of Christ (Ephesians 4:11).
WE believe in worship, fellowship, friendship, leadership, discipleship, and all should be done to the glory of the Almighty God.
WE believe in marriage, family, and the sanctity of the family (Genesis 2:18-25).
WE believe that Jesus shed His blood for the remission of sin (Romans 3:25).
WE believe in divine healing as in the atonement (Isaiah 53:4-5; I Peter 2:24; James 5:14-15).
WE believe that the tenth is the Lord’s and each member should be required to pay their tithes (tenth) and offerings (Malachi 3:8; I Corinthians 9:5-15).
WE believe we should live according to the teaching of the Word of God as recorded in the Bible. We believe that we should conduct ourselves as becoming holy people of God, and refrain from participating in anything that would dishonor God or bring a reproach upon the Church of God; and that we should dress ourselves in modest apparel according to the Word of God (I Timothy 2:9).
WE moreover, under the unction and anointing of the Holy Ghost, do henceforth engage in the sacraments and ordinances enacted by Christ: Baptism (Matthew 28:19-20) and Communion (I Corinthians 11:23-34).
Minister Quincy Sutton is Minister of Music. He directs a Dynamic, Anointed Praise & Worship Team, along with 3 other musicians and 6 Praise Leaders.
The first men’s summit was held in 1998. This summit consisted of about one hundred men for one cause and that was to build men so that they would take their rightful place in society and the church as men of God. Displayed and emphasized at the summit was how men should love their wives and take the position as the priest as the overseer of their households.
The praise dancers at New Life started in 1996 under the direction of Adrienne Anderson and Charmane Chestnut. The Daughters of Destiny consist of young girls and young ladies who are saved; God is the head of their lives. The mission of the dance team is to draw other teenagers to Christ through dance. These praise dancers don’t just practice dance and steps, but they are also taught the purpose of dancing through Bible discussions. This is a ministry.
