FOUNDERS

Cardell Sutton was born in Swansea, South Carolina to the late Gary and Queen Sutton.  He is one of 4 siblings. Cardell has been married to Carolyn Pough Sutton for 39 years.  He is the proud father of three spirit filled children, Elder Rhonda SuttonYoung, Carla Sutton Moore and Elder Quincy Sutton, one Daughter-in-law, Cassandra Lucky Sutton, 2 sons-in-law, Ralph Young, and Reginal Moore, five grandchildren, Lauren, Ivan and Carder Young, Reagan Moore and Quincy Cardell Sutton II.

 

Cardell Sutton attended and graduated from Monroe Pinckney High School.  In 1968 he was drafted in the US Army. He fought in the Viet Nam War from 1969-1970.  While in Viet Nam, his MOS was infantry.  He drove a tanker during warfare and received a Bronze Star and numerous other awards for his bravery.  After returning to the states he was stationed in Ft. Meade Maryland for three months that dismiss with a honorable discharge.

In 2010 Bishop Sutton received the Silver Crescent Award awarded by Governor Mark Stanford that award is the second highest award that any citizen can receive from the State of South Carolina.  He was also honored by the General Assembly on the Floor at the State house on March 18, 2010 where a day was set aside as Bishop Cardell Sutton’s Day in South Carolina.

 

Bishop Sutton started his spiritual pilgrimage in 1976 at Little Zion FBH Church of God of the Americas.  Shortly after becoming a member he was ordained as deacon and later became the chairman of trustee board. He was a faithful choir member of the Voices of Zion and assisted his father with the Usher board. He started a community outreach program while at his home church called “Let’s Talk.” In 1985 he was appointed as District Evangelist of the Columbia District. In 1986 he was appointed and ordain as the pastor of Fuller’s Temple FBH Church in Anderson South Carolina. In 1987 he appointed as pastor of Open Fountain FBH Church in Summerton, South Carolina.

 

 

 

 

Through the divine providence and the instruction of God, he was called with a Clarion call to leave his kindred just as Abraham.  In June 1989 he founded New Life Outreach Ministries Swansea, South Carolina. The foundational scripture is II Corinthians 5:17 and mantel of New Life Ministries is taken from Genesis 1:27-28 “Based on the family.” Pastor Sutton received spiritual covering and instructions for 11 years as related pastor working with Rev. Alvin Ligons, Pastor of Faith Outreach Christian Center, Ridge Spring South Carolina.  In April 2002, New Life Outreach Ministries became an affiliated member of the Sounds of Praise Pentecostal International Fellowship under the covering of Bishop Allen H. Simmons, Prelate.  In 2004 Pastor Sutton was appointed as Elder of the Columbia District with 4 churches assigned to his jurisdiction while also maintaining the responsibility of 2 other independent churches.  In 2006 he was appointed Administrator for the Columbia District.  Pastor Sutton, felt the need to depart from SOP in 2007 in order to pursue the vision and divine purpose that God originally called him to.  March 2009, Pastor Sutton was ordain and appointed as Designate Bishop Cardell Sutton by the Honorable Bishop William Young Jr., Ph.D. Presiding Prelate of the Power Outreach Cathedral of Faith Ministries, Inc. to the sacred office of Bishop of the Lord’s Church and Presiding Prelate of the Kingdom Covenant Fellowship, Inc.

Pastor Sutton and his wife have been the guest speakers at many conferences, seminars, marriage retreats nationally and internationally. They have traveled extensively throughout the United States, Europe, and the Caribbean’s.  Those places includes Egypt, Italy, Germany (several times), England, France, Belgium, Jamaica, and numerous times to the Bahamas.  His most recent visit to Europe was to Poland, Switzerland, Israel and Jordan.

God continues to open doors for Bishop Sutton to teach specifically on marriage while focusing on the family.  Cardell lovrs the Lord and is truly a servant of the Lord, he holds fast to his confession, "I'm going to serve God until I die!"

Carolyn Sutton, New Life Outreach Ministries Co-Pastor, was born September 2, 1953 in Raleigh North Carolina.  She has been married to Bishop Cardell Sutton for 39 years.  She is the very proud mother of three spirit filled children, Rhonda, Carla and Quincy, one  daughter-in-law Cassandra Luckey Sutton, two sons-in-laws, Ralph Young and Reginald Moore, five grandchildren Lauren, Ivan  Carder Young, Reagan Moore and Quincy Cardell Sutton II. 

 

Mrs. Sutton retired from the University of South Carolina June 2007, after working for the state of South Carolina 32 years.  She’s now full-time in the pastorate at New Life Ministries.  She attended the University of South Carolina’s Office Administration program; she is a graduate of Southern Wesleyan University with a BS Degree in Management of Human Resources.  She studied at the University of South Carolina in the Counselor Education Program. In August of 2008 Carolyn received her Masters of Arts degree in Pastoral Ministry with emphasis in biblical studies from Trinity Theological Seminary and Bible College.  From October 2008 - October 2010 she enrolled as a mentee at The International School of Mentoring in Cleveland Tennessee hosted by Psalmist/Minister and author Judy Jacobs. She is currently enrolled at the Destiny School of Ministry of Detroit Michigan pursuing her Doctorate of Divinity in Theology administered at New Life Christian Academy a Satellite School which she help established in August 2010. 

 

Co-pastor Sutton’s received from the spirit of God a clear view of how to help nurture Godly women in the Body of Christ.  She serves as chairlady of the women’s ministry at New Life Outreach Ministries, oversees GEL (God’s Elect Ladies) ministry, established and has taught 3 years of discipleship classes while still training women of God from 3 other churches how to oversee and protect their set leaders as Armor Bearers in a armor bearer classes.

 

 

Mrs. Sutton is an anointed woman of God who has been guest speaker at many women’s conferences; church services, workshops and numerous seminars throughout South Carolina and the United States.  She and her husband have traveled abroad to London England, Paris France, Belgium, Luxor, Cairo, Aswan Egypt, Rome Italy, Several trips to Germany, Nassau and Freeport Bahamas,  Israel, Jordan, Poland, Switzerland and Canada.  Mrs. Sutton has presented at the University of South Carolina’s Presidential Prayer Breakfast and at the Women’s Studies Program.

 

In 1986 she acknowledged the call on her life to preach the gospel; however, Mrs. Sutton officially accepted her call and was licensed in 1992.  She was ordained to preach the gospel in 1994.  Mrs. Sutton Holds fast to Romans 8:38 “Letting nothing separate her from the love of God.”
